Thank you Abang.

Yes, the definition is quite plain but at its core isn't that what marketing is about.

Yes... we can draw all kinds of comparisons up but again... at its core marketing really is creating those circumstances around a great product that makes it an absolute purchase.

Shirley,

Good comment.

Marketing most definitely does not happen "just online". When m friend Joe mentions "creating circumstances around your product/services" he means al the way down to an energy level, not even on the Internet or in more traditional offline marketing channels.

The energy you put into and around anything you wish to sell is really the key. That energy can come in the form collateral marketing materials, your own discussions with people, your personal hapiness with the quality of what you created, the actual quality of the product itself, etc.

There have been a good number of folks who find themselves "successful" having done the same things you mention. They have also though put an intention toward what they want into all other actions they take in their days.

This is something we could discuss at great length.

What other definitions of marketing are out there folks?

Onward & Upward!

I think marketing doesn't just happen online but in your personal life as well. I just started dropping business cards every where with my URL and newsletters in doctors offices as well.
